An educational consultant is an advisor who works with students and parents to find a good educational fit, improve outcomes, connect families with educational resources, and more. Educational consultants may specialize in a specific area of education, such as therapeutic programs, boarding schools, or college admissions. My specialty is finding a good educational fit and improving current school environments for 2e students in grades K-12.
If your child is thriving emotionally, socially, and academically in their current school, you don’t need an educational consultant. BUT if your child is struggling to fit in, consistently underperforming in school, exhibiting challenging behaviors, or simply not receiving the support they need, educational consulting services can help.
I have over 25 years of experience in education, so I know what’s available to students in terms of programs, resources, support, curricula, and educational placements. I am here to get to know your child and help them find a good educational fit. I can provide options many parents didn’t even know existed and an insider view of the complicated world of education.
Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) is a professional association that upholds integrity and a high standard of service in educational consulting. They have a rigorous vetting process and are the leading association for educational consultants. I attended their Summer Training Institute and have a large network of colleagues in the industry.
Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) is the premier professional organization for professional education advocates (and attorneys). I went through a rigorous two-year master’s level Special Education Advocacy Training (2.0) program that included practicum experiences under the supervision of professional education advocates.
I learned how to be an effective advocate as part of this program. As a result, I apply my advocacy skills to public and private schools and even in the private school admissions process!
